Tobacco consumption is a scourge which increases in scale year from year in the world. Indeed, World Health Organization (WHO) esteems that tobacco has been the first avoidable death cause worldwide (more than six million per year). Africa has become the continent the most affected and one tenth of adults’ death is related to tobacco addiction. Smoking prevalence rate in togo is 8.4%. Smoking harms not only the smoker but also anyone exposed to the smoke (passive smoking) Ban on smoking aims at protecting non-smokers from adverse and devastating effects of smoking.

Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids (CTFK) financial support helped ANCE-TOGO and the Ministry of Health (MoH) to organize on June 20 and 21, 2013 a training workshop at International Airport Gnassingbé Eyadéma on the theme “Awareness campaign targeting public places owners on the knowledge and implementation of the law n°2010-017 of December 31, 2010 and its implementation decrees” Fifty participants essentially composed of hotels, restaurants owners and bars managers attended this workshop....

Togo: Security agents trained to repress smokers in public places

With CTFK financial support, ANCE-Togo in collaboration with the Ministry of health (MoH) and the National Program to combate NCDs organized on December 16, 2014, venue Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Togo, a capacity building workshop of Security Agents on «the need to implement the decree n°2012-046 banning smoking in public places».

Article concerning opinion leaders' training workshops on the knowledge and implementation of the tobacco control law in economic regional centres of Togo

Vulgarisation de la loi au togoIn October 2013, the Ministry of Health (MoH), the National Programme to Combat Non-Communicable Diseases (PNLMNT) and the ANCE-TOGO held five (5) training workshops in the economic regional centres namlely, Dapaong, Kara, Sokode, Atakpame and Tsevie on the theme "Sensitization of opinion leaders on the knowledge and implementation of the law No. 2010-017 of 31/12/2010".
